The Rhode Island Centers mission stands in accordance with Article 25 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states:

"Everyone has a right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control."

In collaboration with WELCOME HOUSE - JonnyCake Center of Peacedale - MHCA WAKEFIED created the emergency shelter program providing emergency shelter assistance for members of Washington County and South County for the past 2 years.

Efforts in collaboration with the Corporation for Supportive Housing, local housing authorities, service providers and state officials to create affordable housing opportunities.
